As a Medical Scheduler, you will be responsible for managing a high volume of calls from patients needing to schedule appointments.
Essential Functions of the Role :
- Serves as the first contact for patient care by scheduling and confirming patient appointments, follow-up testing, check-ups, and physician referrals via telephone
- Managing multiple incoming and necessary outbound calls to maintain and ensure organization within provider schedules to include provider line and new patient referral line
- Collects and accurately verifies of patient insurance and demographic informatio n
- Manage daily in basket of tasks to support patient and provid e r needs
- Compile and record medical charts, reports, and correspondence as needed
- Schedulers may engage in rescheduling, follow up appointments, new patient referrals, or procedure / diagnostic scheduling

Colorado Springs Cardiology
Some schedulers may support scheduling utilizing QGenda or Amion to manage resources efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications :
- 1 year of experience in a medical environment with familiarization with terminology and sense of pace.
- Experience with EMR
- Experience in Microsoft Office products
Desired Qualifications :
1 year of experience in managing high volume calls
Physical Requirements
- This position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand;
- talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms;
and lift up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a typical medical clinic and / or business office environment.
