Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking a Support Services Coordinator.
The Support Services Coordinator in the Office of the Newark Registrar will report to the Assistant Registrar. Major responsibilities include and are not limited to :
- Provide veteran student certification and Dept. of Veteran Affairs policy / procedural analysis and research;
- Assist with student registrations on all levels graduate, undergraduate and visiting students;
- Process all withdrawals, Leave of Absence, school to school and re-enrollment applications for all of the undergraduate and graduate deans;
- Assist with general transcript, verification and diploma processes and mailings;
- Assist with all grade changes, coding, prefixing, transfer work and roster submissions;
- Assist with all inquiries as they relate to special populations, including, and not limited to, high school programs, veterans, athletes, consortiums, and cross-registration with NJIT / RBHS;
- Monitor all Salesforce cases, emails, and phone inquiries and delegate as needed;
- Work as a team lead for the office, cross-trained on all Registrar functions;
- Assists with general office duties within the Newark Registrar’s office.
Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Day Work Arrangement Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.
3.22 or the applicable provisions of relevant collective negotiations agreements, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.

- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and / or experience
- Must have experience as a Veteran Affairs (VA) School Certifying Official or have worked in a Veteran Affairs Department at an institute of higher education
- Requires a minimum of two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy experience within a large University Student Services office

- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, Access) or comparable products
