Controls Engineer
Job Summary
This position will support facility projects as well as implement projects to improve the productivity, efficiency, and safety of manufacturing processes and facilities.
This position will have responsibility for design oversight, installation, and qualification of new and / or modified equipment and controls.
Responsibilities
- Engineering support for existing manufacturing equipment control systems PLC / Drive (AC / DC) - HMI Vision controls
- Evaluating, developing, and executing projects to include programming and testing.
- Maintaining engineering documentation
- Wonderware support
- Facility support
Skills and Knowledge
- Proven record of success in capital project management.
- Assertive self- starter with effective communication, interpersonal, project management, and technical skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload.
- Engineering knowledge and experience with electro-mechanical drive systems and controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, AC / DC motors including starters and speed controls, PLCs, HMI’s, and assembly machinery.
- Knowledge of predictive, preventative, corrective design and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment and systems as necessary to prevent and / or eliminate ongoing problems.
- Knowledge of facility infrastructure.
- Experience in packaging, material handling, conveyors manufacturing and / or OEM facility is desirable but not required.
- Working knowledge of SPC, Six Sigma, lean manufacturing principles
Desired, Preferred, Required Three plus years’ experience with process control equipment.Programming experience with one or more of the following : PLCs - Allen-Bradley (Rockwell), SiemensDrives (VFD / Servo) Allen-Bradley, Siemens, EmersonHMI Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Wonderware, Automation DirectSoftware Rockwell, Siemens, Wonderware, Automation Direct, Control TechniquesAutoCAD 2D

This position requires five plus years of hands-on manufacturing experience. US citizenship, green card, perm resident, is required.
