Located in Gates, our client is an expert in commercial carpet and hard-surface flooring. Award winning, nationally recognized and growing, we are actively seeking an experienced professional, driven and self-directed Maintenance Tech / Warehouse Assistant to join this special team.

Contract to hire

Pay : Depending on experience

Hours : Monday-Friday 7 : 30a-4pm - Overtime Available!

Being apart of the maintenance team, you will be the backbone to the business. This team is onsite working with customers to deliver various floor maintenance functions in accordance with standard techniques and procedures.

This position will work closely with the Maintenance Department Lead.

Position Summary :

Essential Functions :

• Operates various types of equipment used for floor care maintenance such as automatic scrubbers, floor machines, wet / dry vacuums, burnishers, sweepers, pressure wash equipment and carpet extractors.
• Provides daily preventative equipment maintenance on all equipment used.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors
• Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of GP Flooring Solutions
• Completes all forms and documentation of jobs as required
• Complete work assignments in a timely manner
• Communicate consistently and effectively with Maintenance Department Lead regarding the status of all jobs
• Utilize the appropriate chemical and supplies according to procedure
• Always prioritize safety while observing all precautionary safety measures
• Report for work on time and as scheduled
• Always represent the organization in a positive and professional manner
• Complete other duties as requested.

Qualifications :

• Experience with the following :
• Floor sealing
• Waxing
• Spray buffing
• Polishing floors
• Burnishing, stripping and finishing
• Scrubbing and recoating
• Carpet cleaning and revitalization
• Tile and grout restoration
• Hard surface restoration

• Must have an active Driver’s License
• Must be comfortable in a customer facing role

Qualifications :

Education and Experience

• High school diploma / GED at a minimum
• Must have valid drivers license and clean driving record
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Effective problem solving skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must be hard-working and have a can-do attitude
• Individual must represent client with professional presentation and demeanor with anyone they meet
• Must be willing to occasionally work overtime hours to meet customer demand
• Must be able to solve problems with minimal supervision
• Must have a valid driver's license
