Job Description : IAT Insurance Group has an opening for a Legal Intern in our Raleigh, North Carolina location for the summer of 2025.

Through this internship you will gain experience providing legal support to the Company and its various business units, and be exposed to top level executives in the field.

The ideal objective of this internship is to transition the best-suited candidate into a full-time position. The anticipated start date for this internship is May 27th, 2025.

Please note, IAT works on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday. Responsibilities :

• Conduct research on various legal issues, including insurance contract interpretation and statutory / regulatory issues;
• Draft memoranda on various legal issues;
• Review and edit contract and insurance policy wording;
• Review and provide comments / suggestions on legal pleadings for active litigation involving the company;
• Complete various legal assignments to support the Company and its various business units, including Property Claims, Casualty Claims, and Underwriting;
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications :

• Current third year law student as of May 2025.
• Ability to work out of IAT’s Raleigh office on our Hybrid Schedule.
• Ability to identify and interpret legal documents and understand legal concepts.
• To qualify, applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment purposes.
