Position : Cook

Hours :

Saturday and Sunday 5 : 30am-6 : 30pm and Monday-Wednesday 12 : 00pm-6 : 30pm

Key Responsibilities : As a Cook at The Manor, you will have various responsibilities, including but not limited to :

  • Checking and inspecting food products and supplies in the absence of the Executive Chef.
  • Supervising and assisting in the storage of supplies and food products.
  • Cooperating with inter-departmental personnel to ensure dining services meet residents' needs.
  • Creating and maintaining a positive atmosphere throughout the unit and shift.
  • Meeting with the Executive Chef regularly to identify and correct problem areas.
  • Reporting and addressing resident complaints and grievances.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and community rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Determining the amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus.
  • Coordinating food preparation and meal service.
  • Preparing, seasoning, cooking, and serving meals; ensuring appropriate portioned servings according to standards.
  • Preparing nutritional snacks for residents as directed by the Executive Chef.

Qualifications : We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications :

  • High school graduate or equivalent education (preferred).
  • Experience in a commercial kitchen is required.
  • Preference given to those with education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets.
  • Minimum two (2) years of food service experience in a healthcare dietary setting (desired).
  • General knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioned serving.
  • Numerical ability for recipe preparation and proper measuring.
  • Good motor coordination and manual dexterity for various work routines.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including during emergency situations.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and meet health and state requirements, including TB testing.
  • Must be in good mental and physical condition.
