Behavioral Health Treatment Specialist

Position Description : Elevate is looking for a Behavioral Health Treatment Specialist to join the Strive Recovery of Waterloo programing for substance use disorders.

This position will assist the clinical team with providing addiction recovery services to clients in the substance use programs.

This position will serve as a liaison and guide for those in treatment, assist with developing recovery plans and support others in their recovery.

This position is great for someone who is interested in recovery and helping others with their recovery. Lived experience is not required, but we encourage those with lived experience to apply!

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

• Provide orientation for new clients, covering program rules, expectations, and completing all admission forms / required intake documents.
• Lead educational groups to help clients regain essential skills and improve psychoeducation related to their needs.
• Administer Urine Analysis (UA), handle proper storage, complete system documentation, and transfer UA samples to the appropriate testing authority.
• Maintain detailed progress notes and provide reports on client progress as assigned.
• Transport clients to various appointments, including A.A. meetings, medical appointments, and other functions as requested / needed
• Facilitate recreational, physical fitness, and appropriate leisure activities as part of the recovery process.
• Comply with all processes and procedures and all regulations with licensing
• Document incidents and complete reports promptly during shifts.
• Document in the state database for licensure
• Collaborate with the treatment team to inform treatment decisions.
• Link clients to post-treatment resources within the community.
• Assist clients in crisis situations related to social, emotional, and health-related challenges.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications / Skills :

• Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelors and / or tCADC or working toward is preferred
• 1+ years of experience in behavioral health / substance use required.
• Experience working in Dual Diagnosis treatment is a plus.
• Experience facilitating groups preferred
• Certified Peer Recovery Coach, Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist or tCADC within 6 mos.
• Valid driver’s license required.
