As an Electrical Supervisor (Mobile Plant Maintenance), you will lead a collaborative and experienced team to maintain safe, legal, and logical systems that provide effective controls to identify and manage risks.
Drawing on your extensive expertise, you will provide strategic advice, develop and improve systems, and provide necessary operational support to achieve health and safety excellence across our workplaces.
About The Role
We are seeking an individual with significant demonstrated experience motivating and leading a team of electricians. As the Electrical Supervisor, you will be a dependable point of inquiry and a trusted advisor across the Iron Bridge project, expertly advising on best practices across the electrical repairs and maintenance for our fleet of Liebherr T264 Haul Trucks.
Additionally, you will :
- Ensure the efficient supervision of the installation, maintenance and testing of electrical plant;
- Be responsible to the Project Manager and Maintenance Leaders for the safe operation of electrical plant at the mine;
- Ensure that all work carried out by persons in relation to electrical plant and installations at the mine is adequately supervised;
- Ensure that electrical plant and installations at the mine are installed and tested in accordance with the Act, and maintained in a safe working condition;
- Stop the use of any electrical plant or installation at the mine considered to be dangerous;
- Report to the site managers any situation which may affect the safe use of electricity or contravene the Act;
- Investigate and report to the site managers details of the following incidents (i) any electric shock or burn received by a person;
- ii) any fire suspected to be caused by electricity;(iii) any dangerous occurrence involving electricity which could have caused injury to a person;
- Record up to date information in the electrical log book kept for the mine under regulation 641C about the matters and incidents referred to in paragraphs (e), (f) and (g).
About You
- Electrical maintenance experience in a mining operation specific to Mobile Plant Maintenance and Electric Drive Haul Trucks
- Supervisory and management experience of a team of tradespersons.
- Experience working with permit to work systems.
- Sound understanding of the Electrical Licensing and Mines Safety and Inspection regulations.
- Experience working with business management systems JDE, Oracle (Desirable)
- Hold either (i) have an electrician’s licence issued under the Electricity (Licensing) Regulations 1991 without restrictions;
- or(ii) hold a qualification in electrical engineering that makes the person eligible for professional engineer membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia ABN 63 020 415 510;
and Hold an approved WHS risk management unit for electrical supervisors
