Position Summary
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences is seeking to hire a Research Scientist 1.
The Research Scientist 1 (RS1) will work closely with the Principal Investigator on the following :
- The RS1 will maintain all laboratory cell lines currently used in the Chodosh Lab
- The RS1 will perform periodic testing for mycoplasma and endotoxin contamination of cell lines and reagents, respectively
- The RS1 will culture corneal cells from deceased human donors, assay the secreted proteome, and perform bulk and single cell ATAC-seq
- The RS1 will perform single cell RNA-seq and ATAC-seq, and proteome studies on zebrafish corneas exposed to hyperglycemic conditions
Conditions of Employment
- Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. Additional health screenings may be required, dependent on the nature of the research conducted, as determined by Employee Occupational Health Services.
- Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; no previous experience required.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
