We have created an opening for a Regional Pharmacy Training Specialist within our specialty pharmacies. This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position.
The Regional Pharmacy Training Specialist will collaborate with the Pharmacy Leadership Team to ensure training and competency assessments are completed in a timely manner and are in compliance with all federal and state pharmacy regulations while meeting or exceeding accrediting agency and industry standards.
The Regional Pharmacy Training Specialist will also participate in developing and implementing new processes with the goal of improving efficiency without negatively impacting the quality of patient care.
This position may be primarily remote with occasional in-branch requirements.

Primary Responsibilities :
- Assists Pharmacy Leadership with onboarding and completion of initial training and competency assessments for all newly hired pharmacy staff to establish a foundation for the use of the pharmacy EMR, all pharmacy systems, and pharmacy workflow.
- Completes scheduled training and competency assessments of staff who have been identified as competency evaluators in each branch.
- Coordinates with Pharmacy Leadership and competency evaluators in each branch to ensure timely completion of all required competency evaluations for pharmacy staff.
- Collaborates with the leadership teams and trainers in other departments to provide baseline intradepartmental education and understanding of the roles and links between each department at NELC.
- Collaborates with the Pharmacy Leadership team in the development and implementation of new processes and new technology aimed at maximizing efficiency without negatively impacting patient care.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of a sustainable learning program including the design, development, and implementation of training and job support materials.
- Assists in the development and implementation of a scalable current and future training program including methodology, evaluation criteria, and maintenance of quality documents and program design.
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of all NELC therapies; educates pharmacy and other applicable NELC staff to assure competency and consistency within and among all branches.
- Collaborates with the CPC Product Selection Committee, Regional Purchasing, and Pharmacy Leadership in the selection and standardization of safe, efficient, and cost-effective consumable products for use in the pharmacy departments.
- Collaborates with Pharmacy Leadership to ensure compliance with Federal and State rules and regulations, USP 797 / 800, and accrediting agency standards.
- Provides timely, constructive, collaborative feedback to Pharmacy Leadership and staff; provides coaching and recommendations for addressing training and quality deficiencies;
ensures that feedback and coaching are appropriately reviewed and documented.
Educational & Professional Requirements :
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of home infusion therapy experience is required.
- Prior experience in a customer service-based field is preferred.
- Prior inventory management experience is preferred.
- Must obtain Certification / Licensure as a Pharmacy Technician in all states where NELC operates within one year of hire.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
- Sterile Preparation Technician Certification is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of LEAN principles preferred.
Preferred Skills & Experience :
- Excellent Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements preferred
- Knowledge of the Joint Commission accreditation process and overall JC standards required
- Knowledge of USP 797 and USP 800 standards required
- Knowledge of DSCSA preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills required.
- Excellent communication skills required.
