Contract Position

Responsibilities :

• Perform TIG and / or MIG welding and related fabrication processes on complex drawers, cabinets, and subassemblies.
• Set up and maintain welding equipment.
• Use fixtures or table setups as necessary using clamps or angle plates to produce the correct shapes and dimensions.
• Work to tight tolerances.
• Perform welding in the best sequence to minimize warpage and distortion.
• Clean and prepare parts for welding by wire brushing, abrasive shot blast, and aqueous or solvent cleaning.
• Straighten parts that have been distorted due to machining and or welding.
• Clean, shot-blast, and apply the metal flame spray.

Qualifications :

• Experience in TIG and / or MIG welding on aluminum, steel, or stainless steel parts such as drawers and cabinets in accordance with supplied instructions.
• Knowledge of the difference between basic metal groups such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Proficient with various hand tools such as hammers, chisels, squares, and straight edges and measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and scales.
• Good knowledge of welding symbols.
• Ability to read prints and sketches with regard to fabrication and can follow written and / or verbal instructions.
