Job Description
IST : This course introduces students to a variety of approaches that can be taken in research studies and the appropriate selection and application of methods, including quantitative,qualitative, critical, historical, and design-based approaches, from research formulation of results.
After taking this course, students will be able to : · Frame a social science research project· Choose research approaches appropriate for the type of problem to be addressed· Communicate effectively about research· Demonstrate familiarity with research ethics and researcher responsibility Qualifications MSLIS, preferred experience with a variety of research methods.
Job Specific Qualifications Responsibilities Successful candidates will be prepared to serve as instructor and mentor and be willing to work with the Professor of Record, Program Director, and other instructors teaching this class.
This course has a developed syllabus, exercises and texts, however, we seek individuals who can bring their own experiences to the course.
- Collaborate with professor of record and / or program director, who is responsible for creating the course syllabus and course content, as well as providing an overview of their overall vision for the course.
- Attend onboarding and training with the iSchool’s Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning
- Maintain office hours and open communication with students.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner; provide feedback when appropriate.
- Prepare for weekly online sessions with students
