JOB SUMMARY

The Surgical Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner is a skilled member of the allied health care team who is qualified both academically and clinically to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician.

The Surgical Physician Assistant works within a cooperative unit, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction.

In this role, you will work with the total hip / knee surgeon. This role will include OR and clinic duties as well as outreach to our Rice Lake Center.

Call will be approximately five days per month.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Minimum Required : Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Program.

Preferred / Optional : None

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required : None

Preferred / Optional : One year in specialty.

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES

Minimum Required :

• Certification from the National Commission on Certifications of Physician Assistants / Nurse Practitioner.
• Must be eligible to obtain or already hold a current State of Wisconsin Physician Assistant licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
• Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department / location).
• Affiliated staff privileges at associated hospital may be required (varies by department / location).

Preferred / Optional : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
