Job Summary
The Network Engineer serves as a tier 3 engineer and team lead for a variety of Cisco and other network technologies, such as experience managing and deploying LAN / WAN and wireless networks.
The candidate should also have an understanding of active directory, network account integration, security, IDS / IPS, and web proxies, with industry savvy to converse fluently for team driven solutions.
Key Roles & Responsibilities :
- Architecting network solutions for new site or projects.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting firewall, router and switch problems.
- Install, maintain and upgrade equipment and its associated infrastructure.
- Upgrading Cisco IOS, VOIP and proxies software Able to work extended and flexible hours. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.
Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution.
- Provides network and host based security, incident response, firewall and VPN management and administration
- Remain current on emerging technologies
- Manage projects and maintenance tasks working with the Track-IT ticketing system assets
- Monitors Network for usage anticipate and identify problems suggest solutions
- Implement the necessary controls and procedures to protect information systems
- Perform other tasks as requested by the IT Director
Qualifications & Competencies :
- BA or BS in a technical field or a relevant combination of education and experience
- Appropriate Cisco Certifications
- 5 years minimum experience working in a senior network Engineer role
- Intermediate to expert understanding of firewall configurations and maintenance, experience with Palo Alto equipment preferred
- Intermediate to expert with configuration, installation, troubleshooting and supporting

- Experience deploying and maintaining an enterprise campus and remote Wi-Fi network securely
- Understanding and implementing VLAN and ACL best practices for compliance
- PCI requirements
- General understanding of VoIP equipment and operation including Cisco Call Manager
- Knowledgeable in application transport and network infrastructure protocols (SSL / TLS, DNS, DHCP, WINS, NTP, HTTP, SMTP, CIFS, LDAP, and MS AD) and possess an understanding of how to support these applications / protocols when access through VPN and Firewall appliances
- Understanding and implementation of network traffic analysis, remote access methods and systems, stateful inspection firewalls, encryption, authentication and authorization technology
- Hands on experience working with VPN technologies (IPSEC, SSL, VPN. WebVPN, Anyconnect, DMVPN
- Willingness to mentor more junior staff members and interns
- Experience in a fast paced support environment in a Corporate Office as a member of a 24x7x365 network operations team
- Expert-level skills with Windows and Mac OS
- VMware enterprise administration experience a plus
- Ability to learn quickly new or unfamiliar technologies and products, independently using documentation and online resources
