Position Overview

The Revit Drafter will use computer aided design software to create technical drawings, designs and schematics for designers and engineers.

Electrical, Mechanical, Low Voltage and AV)

Essential Job Functions / Duties :

  • Work with engineers to prepare original drawings and revisions for engineering projects using AutoCAD, Revit, 3D, and other software.
  • Provide drafting and design support for various level engineers and project managers during the planning and design stages of projects.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of standard AutoCAD templates, details and graphic standards.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of standard Revit families, templates, details and graphic standards.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to translate mark-ups / sketches into drawings consistent with company standards; check drawings for consistency with standards and plot final drawings;

correctly label final work drawings; and update contract drawings and specifications.

  • Maintain standard drawing files and templates in accordance with company standards.
  • Assist in field activities to gather project information as necessary.
  • Coordinate work with disciplines including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, lighting and low voltage as needed.
  • Work at the direction of the Project Manager.
  • Provide technical support to other engineers and draftspersons as needed.
  • Attend staff meetings as needed.
  • Interact with clients, vendors, contractors, architects and fellow engineers to coordinate designs.
  • Report to Project Managers and senior management about progress and changes.
  • Interface with Administrative and Support Staff.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications;

establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Comply with the company policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications :

  • Previous work experience with CAD / Revit Required.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and orally about highly technical subject matter.
  • Thorough understanding of plumbing systems and component materials.
  • Ability to work extended hours and workdays in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines and work demands as needed.
  • Capacity to analyze a problem from multiple perspectives and explore creative solutions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with a desire for excellence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Valid Drivers' license.

  • Must be able to identify and assess information on computer screens and written reports and documentation and record accurate written and electronic messages and reports.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters or symbols and eye / hand coordination.
  • Position requires occasional (20%) travel within the local area, traveling to office and business locations to conduct business transactions.

This involves exposure to weather conditions, traveling distances to and from buildings, and operating a vehicle.
