When it comes to where you work, we know you’ve got choices here’s what we provide :

• Pay Rate : $18.75
• Position Status : Part-time / 20+ hours per week
• Schedule : Monday- Friday 8 : 00 am- 4 : 30 pm with possible weekend hours

Responsibilities

Here’s what to expect as a Employment Specialist :

• Assist individuals in obtaining, and maintaining community-based, competitive, independent employment.
• Assist individuals with employment applications, interview preparation, job development, job training, and social skills training.
• Provide on-going observation, supervision, and guidance for the individuals.
• Ensure the delivery of natural supports at the worksites of the individuals.
• Communicate with the individuals, their family members / guardians, and their employers to reinforce and stabilize job placement.
• Help individuals with disabilities build self-esteem and independence through making everyday decisions.
• Use effective communication to build relationships and rapport with the individuals.
• Develop and carry out an individualized plan based on individual preferences, needs, and interests.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements of a Empoyment Specialist :

• 6 months to 2 years of previous job coaching related experience
• Knowledge specific to the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and / or autism
• A valid driver’s license and 6 months driving experience
• Access to a vehicle with valid insurance, registration, and inspection
• 18 years of age
• Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand the English language
• Ability to work independently with strong time management skills.

Preferred, but not required :

ACRE / CESP certification. If none, must be willing to obtain within 6 months of the start of employment.
