Lead Web Engineer
Contract role (6-12 months)
This is an onsite role in Atlanta (near Perimeter area). No sponsirship available, please no 3rd parties.
Essential Functions
- Work closely with Principal Engineer, development team and stakeholders.
- Participate in creative design discussions.
- Perform feasibility analysis for all website designs.
- Lead development efforts for website development.
- Responsible for code reviews.
- Collaborate with product and technology leadership to help plan work for technology pods.
- Research and assess feasibility of features suggested by product teams.
- Assist experimentation of various features to drive conversion and user engagement.
- Actively research and provide solutions for problems.
- Design and present elegant solutions to gaps in the products we build.
- Support product releases and ability to triage issues in production.
- Understand cloud infrastructure.
- Have experience with CICD pipelines.
- Work in a fast-paced environment.
- Have an end user focus.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Work Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on development experience using React to deliver high performing websites.
- Experience with Git.
- Experience with Jira & Confluence or similar agile tools.
- Experience in various deployment strategies.
- Experience in various testing and experimentation strategies with website development.
Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in React with the ability to deliver highly performant websites.
- Proficient in website development using the Next.js framework.
- Proficient in consuming REST API services.
- Proficient in debugging and knowledge of edge cases with performance specific to website development.
- Experience integrating payment solutions like Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- Experience integrating social logins is a plus.
- Experience consuming GraphQL services is a plus.
- Experience implementing feature flagging.
- Some experience integrating with content management.
- Advanced user of GIT, Jira, Confluence, and other supporting tools or similar platform
- Proficient in CICD practices and ability to understand pipelines.
- Experience working with NPM.
- Experience working with TypeScript.
- Ability to understand Java and JavaScript code.
