HAGS is an intimate, queer fine-dining restaurant helmed by Chef Telly Justice (nominated for Best Chef NY State 2024, nominated for Emerging Chef 2023, winner of Michelin Young Chef 2024 New York) and Sommelier Camille Lindsley (Wine Enthusiast Future 40 2022).
We are looking for passionate hospitality professionals for our dining room who are seeking a small team setting with enthusiastic guests and oppertunity to grow their skills as a fine dining server.
As Captain at HAGS you are responsible for :
- Having proficient knowledge in the nightly offered menus (both food and beverage), noting especially potential allergens when necessary
- Maintaining clear communication with team during service : including asking for help when needed
- Having a sales-minded approach to service informed by the guests’ needs and interests
- Building relationships with guests, first time and regular guests alike
- Strategizing in creative ways to ensure guests have optimal experience and service runs smoothly for the team
- Being an active participant in cultivating the culture in the dining room to be warm, welcoming, and empowering for guests and teammates alike
Requirements to apply are :
- Two years or more experience in a fine-dining and / or dinner service role
- Willingness to learn, grow and expand your skill set
- Four day availability- weekends are a must
- Availability to work Sunday brunch
