PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY :

Accountable for all forecasting activities associated with developing, maintaining and improving the rolling monthly demand forecasts and longer-term strategic plans.

Create and maintain forecast models using quantitative and qualitative analysis that incorporates sales trends, promotional plans, new product launches and business intelligence from cross-functional partners.

Work closely with Sales, Ecommerce, Product, Marketing, and Supply teams to develop a robust consensus demand plan. Continuously work to improve forecast accuracy and in turn, increase order fulfillment, reduce excess / obsolete inventory, and support all corporate initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION :

  • Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation (SKU, Style, Category, Brand, etc.) for multiple time horizons.
  • Review historical sales trends, prepare forecast data, track assumptions, develop statistical forecast models and evaluate forecast results.
  • Research and reconcile forecast variances and refine the models to reflect updated assumptions.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, Marketing and Supply teams to understand demand forecast drivers, research variances, document and integrate assumptions into the demand plan and S&OP process.
  • Demonstrate understanding and proficiency in collaborative and consensus demand planning.
  • Alignment of the demand forecast with the brand's strategic direction (Brand, Category, Channel) and financial budgets through the S&OP process.
  • Develop in-depth analysis and present forecast accuracy and performance metrics to identify issues / opportunities and make recommendations for improvements to the demand plan.
  • Provide input to the Supply team in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Coordinate and drive the cross functional actions and tasks involved in meeting the necessary timelines to launch or transition products.
  • Maintain and enhance the demand planning systems as the primary forecasting system tool.

OTHER FUNCTIONS :

Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :

  • 2-3 years of Demand Planning and / or Supply Chain Analytics.
  • Experience with Demand Planning software (Logility a plus).
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, formulas, etc.)
  • Strong communication (interpersonal, relationship-building, presentation, building business cases), time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and assertive in follow-through with colleagues and business partners.
  • Ability to multi-task and cope with ambiguity of information and conflicting priorities.
  • Attention to detail a must.

Position reports to the Director of Demand & Supply.
