Summary of Position :
The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, assisting with the completion of accurate and timely closes and reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
This role will work closely with the finance and accounting team to support various accounting functions and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform various general ledger activities, including journal entries and monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements through the month end close process, as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Prepare balance sheet, P&L analysis, and audit schedules.
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Support external audits and tax filings as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Provide support to senior accounting staff and management as required.
Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations (GAAP).
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills, with ability to evaluate current processes for improvements.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
- A combination of education and experience with the above requirements will also be considered to satisfy minimum requirements.
