PRIMARY PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE
The 988 Data and Technology Specialist plays a crucial role in the Greater Twin Cities Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, ensuring the accurate collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to crisis intervention services.
This role also troubleshoots technology issues, serving as the primary liaison between the Greater Twin Cities 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, the software telephony vendor, and the Greater Twin Cities United Way IT department.
The Data and Technology Specialist will work closely with the program leadership team to maintain data integrity and quality, while identifying opportunities for enhanced reporting and analysis.
SCHEDULE & LOCATION
Standard hours are Monday - Friday, 3 : 00 p.m. - 11 : 00 p.m. with occasional flexibility required for special meetings and events.
This is a 100% remote role but must be located in Minnesota, eastern North Dakota, or western Wisconsin.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Collect, organize, and maintain data related to crisis intervention calls, including demographic information, call outcomes, and follow-up actions.
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform programmatic decisions and improve service delivery.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on key performance indicators, outcomes, and trends to program leadership and external stakeholders.
- Conduct regular audits of data to ensure accuracy and compliance with established standards and protocols.
- Provide training and support to staff on data collection protocols, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Utilize technology platforms and tools to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
- Act as the primary point of contact between Greater Twin Cities 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, the software telephony vendor, and the Greater Twin Cities IT department, ensuring smooth communication and troubleshooting any technical issues that arise.
- Provide technical support to call specialists, troubleshooting issues related to telephony systems and other technology platforms used in crisis intervention.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance data collection efforts, improve data quality, and optimize technology use.
Participate in MDH data collection meetings.
Qualifications
COMPETENCIES THAT SUPPORT YOUR WORK
- Related Bachelor's degree and / or 2-4 years of experience in data coordination, preferably in a healthcare, social services or technology setting.
- Proficiency in data reporting and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, SAS) and familiarity with telephony systems and IT troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data sets and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy, data integrity, and effective technology management.
- Ability to work with technology users supporting issues with a strong service orientation.
- Experience working with technology vendors and IT departments to resolve technical issues and optimize system performance.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention or mental health services desirable.
