Job Description
Assist CTMs with their State benefits focusing on disability and PEBA retirement disability. Assist CTMs through the disability process beginning to end.
Manage the life cycle of an CTM’s disability case from the onset of FMLA, short term disability, basic long-term disability, supplemental long-term disability, retirement disability (if applicable), and Social Security Disability.
Counsel CTMs on the complexities of disability and assist with necessary paperwork and next steps.
Coordinate retirement consultations with CTMs related to their individual retirement plans and benefits information. Counsel CTMs on PEBA guidelines for retirement, retiree insurance eligibility, and all other pertinent information.
Calculate retirement monthly estimates and PTO rollover / payout information. Make best recommendations for the benefit of the CTM.
Assist CTM’s with the retirement process, provide direction on how apply and all applicable details, including retiree insurance and PTO rollover paperwork.
Provide counsel to CTM retiring related to Medicare and the coordination of PEBA retiree insurance. Process Medicare Employer Verification forms for CTMs eligible for Medicare Part A & Part B.
Provide and counsel to CTM’s with information applicable to their various supplemental retirement plans, (options; rollover, distribution options, etc.).
Senior Benefits Analyst for Medical University Hospital Authority, (MUHA), providing counsel and expertise in resolving issues, trouble shooting, seeking innovative solutions on a case-by-case basis.
Provide guidance to other team members with the administration of PEBA insurance, retirement plans, death claims, retirement disability and social security disability.
Collaborate with PEBA and departments to create process improvements and roll out new programs to address client needs. Leverage data and analytics to drive innovation, solve problems, and make suggestions to serve our population of CTM’s.
Mentor Benefits Specialists; providing guidance to team with the administration of PEBA insurance and retirement plans. Sourcing strategies to support the strategic and operational goals for the organization.
Manage Benefits Team to ensure all respective plans and processes are administered and operate in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, ethics, company policies, and plan provisions.
Lead and manage the design and administration of all benefits and wellness programs. Manage, coach and develop Benefits Team to establish priorities, delegate responsibilities, identify resources, and ensure high quality and timely work product and execution of quality customer service to clients.
Additional Job Description
Bachelors and 5-7 years of direct Human Resources experience specializing in employee benefits required. Masters degree preferred.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Current knowledge of Federal and State Labor and Employment Laws.
Previous experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and FMLA preferred. Position requires excellent communication skills for frequent professional interaction with directors, managers and departmental staff. Public speaking required.
