Kennedys, a global law firm with offices throughout the US, seeks a full-time Paralegal with 3-5+ years of solid Defense Litigation experience related to PA law to join our team in our Philadelphia Office.

This is a really exciting opportunity for an ambitious Paralegal to join a growing, global law firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to review medical records and add relevant dates / information to the medical chronology
  • Prepare discovery motions (Motions to Extend Discovery, Motion to Compel Discovery and Motion Dismiss Complaint for Plaintiff's Failure to Provide Discovery)
  • Experience reviewing Plaintiff's Answers to Interrogatories
  • Schedule and coordinate IME's for plaintiff
  • Research (Westlaw preferred) and other online sources
  • Assist in retention of experts
  • Prepare HIPPA Authorization Forms for Plaintiff's execution and return
  • Retrieval of medical records from providers
  • Follow-up with providers to ensure receipt of records of HIPPA request
  • Perform Jury Verdict Searches using Westlaw
  • Preparation of appeals, motions and privilege logs
  • Production of documents
  • Shepardizing blue booking cases

Required Experience

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience Defense Litigation
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Thorough working knowledge of and experience working the Federal and PA court system
  • Experience drafting and entering time entries annual billing requirement 1400 hours
  • Experience with Westlaw, Lexis, PACER
  • College Graduate and / or Paralegal Certification from an ABA accredited program.
  • Ability to work from home but have flexibility when needed in office. Firm hybrid policy is 3 days in Philadelphia office-2 days / home.
