Salary : $70K to $85K
Job Purpose :
Western States Reclamation is a premier restoration contractor in the Western United States with over 200 team members. WSR has covered every corner of the industry including wildfire rehabilitation, oil and gas pipelines, wind and solar farms, highways and railroads, river restoration, building parks and public open spaces.
WSR is currently hiring a Field Maintenance and Warranty Manager, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that WSR meets all maintenance and warranty obligations for current and future projects.
In this role, you will oversee the enhancement of efficiencies, monitor quality standards, and ultimately increase customer satisfaction and job profitability.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
Safety :
Ensure safety protocols are adhered to at all times to maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
Daily Communication :
- Communicate daily with your supervisor, reporting work completed and upcoming schedules.
- Maintain daily maintenance logs and timesheets documenting work completed and current site conditions.
- Prepare formats for logs and quality control inputs from staff, to be turned into owners at billing time.
- Prepare and maintain job books per site.
- Manage timesheets for staff.
- Train and supervise staff.
Scheduling Maintenance Routes and Crews :
- Collaborate with Project Managers (PMs) to schedule manpower and equipment.
- Communicate staff needs by 12 : 00 pm on Thursdays.
- Maintain a calendar of events and project closeouts.
- Direct and inspect 1 to 2 maintenance crews daily.
- Schedule larger crews as needed for major repairs or replacements.
- Optimize time spent in the yard and between accounts / projects.
- Manage crew hours to maintain a 40-hour workweek when practical.
Equipment Management :
- Ensure proper equipment is available and maintained for your maintenance staff.
- Conduct inventory checks and upkeep.
- Promptly identify and report maintenance needs to the Equipment Manager.
Irrigation Controller Scheduling, Monitoring, and Training :
- Ensure irrigation controllers are effectively programmed and all plant materials are watered efficiently.
- Seek and complete any necessary training to effectively program and run irrigation equipment.
- Adjust schedules based on soil moisture and plant health.
- Train WSR staff and owners on controller capabilities.
- Assist WSR superintendents and foremen with controller setup and scheduling.
Irrigation Walk-Throughs :
- Conduct quality inspections of installs with PMs prior to owner walk-throughs and maintenance periods.
- Assist with as-built drawings and controller charts.
- Provide feedback to the team on quality issues.
Plant Health :
- Monitor and maintain plant health at all jobsites under warranty and maintenance.
- Inspect soil moisture throughout the site.
- Investigate failing plant material and devise corrective actions.
- Perform plant replacements as needed.
- Implement proper pruning practices.
- Maintain a temporary nursery at the Frederick yard.
Weed Management :
- Implement and record weed management strategies.
- Train and direct staff on weed management.
- Maintain compliant records.
- Proactively manage weed issues on existing sites.
Project Closeout :
- Collaborate with PMs and owners on project turnover.
- Ensure documents are in order.
- Prepare sites for inspection.
- Communicate with owners about their needs.
Estimation of Time :
- Scheduling and Coordinating : 15%
- Irrigation (Controller, Coverage, Repair) Inspections : 35%
- General Site Inspections and Quality Control : 35%
- Repairs and Replacements : 15%
Benefits :
- 6 paid holidays per calendar year (New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas) after 30 days of employment.
- 10 paid days off (PTO) per year. PTO will begin to accrue at a rate of one day per month after 60 days of employment.
- Up to 48 hours of paid sick time per year.
- 401K plan eligibility after 60 days of employment, with company matching up to 4%.
- Health insurance eligibility on the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment. Currently, the company pays approximately 100% of the employee’s insurance under the standard plan.
