Required :
Completion of a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency (or equivalent experience)
3 years of experience in area of emergency medicine specialty practice with familiarity of Institutional Pharmacy services, and the management of Pharmacokinetic services in an Acute Care institution.
Highly Desired :
Successful completion of PGY-2 in EMERGENCY MEDICINE or CRITICAL CARE
Board Certified Emergency Medicine Pharmacy (BCEMP), Board Certified Critical Care Pharmacy (BCCCP), or Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) certification

Responsibilities
Assure the appropriate selection, dosing, administering, and dispensing of medication orders in specialized areas, such as nuclear medicine, oncology, cardiology.
Serve as a subject matter expert in pharmacy discipline and provide guidance across pharmacies and to clinical leadership.
- Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems.
- Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
- Compound and dispense medications for accurate delivery to patients.
- Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
- Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.
- Oversee technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies.
- Assist with academic functions such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students.
- May float to provide coverage of pharmacy needs.
- Provide patient counseling when required.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration :
Pharmacist credentialed from the Maryland Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education :
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
Additional Preferences
- Required : Graduate of an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program.
- Required : Active Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
