Job Title : Sr. Principal Cloud Engineer

Job Function : Cloud Engineer who has experience with designing and implementing cloud architectures in AWS or Azure, and experience producing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) or Configuration as Code (CaC).

Job Type : Full Time Contract. Right to Hire could be possible.

Location : Washington DC Hybrid in the office days a week

Scope of Job

• RCM is seeking a Sr. Cloud Engineer for our government client.
• Must have a minimum of years of related experience managing cloud environments, possessing extensive skills and knowledge in cloud service provider selection, implementation techniques, application data migration techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
• In addition to the duties required of a Sr. Cloud Engineer, the Cloud Engineer SME will provide technical, managerial, and administrative direction for problem definition, analysis, requirements development and implementation for complex to extremely complex systems within cloud infrastructure.

They should be able to troubleshoot cloud performance issues and they should be able to analyze network traffic while providing capacity planning solutions.

Possess at least Professional or Specialty certification from a cloud provider.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Producing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) or Configuration as Code (CaC), delivering solutions with a code first approach with sufficient comments and structure.
• Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
• Diagnosing and resolving complex performance, security, and / or technical challenges
• Supporting all tiers of applications deployed in the cloud, configuring network, cloud native services, infrastructure, and privileges for development teams.
• Identifying opportunities for optimizing cloud consumption by the agency and providing strategic direction for addressing those opportunities.
• Creating / updating cloud environment configurations to establish / support application workloads, including : Azure Focused : Configuration of Subscriptions, Resource Groups, VNets, Subnets, load balancers, App Services, Azure Batch, Virtual Machines, resource tagging, billing, policy implementation, and security controls AWS Focused : Configuration of AWS Accounts, IAM Users and Roles, VPCs, subnets, load balancers, Network routes, Transit Gateway, Control Tower, Systems Manager, Config Manager, stack sets, WAF, CloudFront, and Route

Required Experience :

• years of experience in information technology with + years of recent hands-on experience deploying / configuring workloads within AWS OR Azure.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud architectures.
• Extensive experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) including CloudFormation and Terraform
• Good understanding of DevOps best practices and experience working with DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, SonarQube, and Artifactory.
• Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Strong experience troubleshooting enterprise computing and operating systems such as Linux and Windows.
• Experience documenting requirements, user stories, and use cases.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment.

Desired Qualification

Professional Architect Certification in AWS OR Azure

Education & Certifications

• Professional Architect Certification in AWS OR Azure
• Possess at least Professional or Specialty certification from a cloud provider.
