Director of Training
Casual Dining Restaurant Group
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Training to lead the development, implementation, and management of training programs across our casual dining restaurant chain.
The Director of Training will play a key role in ensuring that all team members, from front-of-house to kitchen staff, are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional guest experiences and maintain operational excellence.
This role will focus on employee development, training systems, and creating consistent training processes across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities :
Design and oversee comprehensive training programs for all restaurant roles, including management, kitchen, and front-of-house staff.
Ensure that training materials reflect the company’s standards for quality, guest service, and operational efficiency.
- Manage onboarding and orientation programs for new hires, ensuring smooth integration into the company. Create pathways for continuous development and career progression within the organization.
- Ensure consistent training protocols and standards across all locations, developing tools and resources to maintain uniformity in service and operational procedures.
- Develop and implement leadership and management development programs to support the growth of restaurant managers and supervisors.
- Develop a robust train-the-trainer model to ensure that restaurant leaders can effectively train their teams.
- Work closely with management teams to assess employee performance, identify training gaps, and adjust training content accordingly to improve skills and competencies.
- Ensure that all training programs include required certifications, compliance training, and safety procedures, and are up to date with health, food safety, and labor laws.
- Measure the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, performance metrics, and employee engagement, continuously refining programs to meet the company’s evolving needs.
- Leverage digital tools and e-learning platforms to streamline training processes and make learning accessible to all employees.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience in a training or development role within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Strong knowledge of casual dining operations, including front-of-house, kitchen, and management practices.
- Ability to develop and implement effective training programs for various employee levels.
- Experience with leadership and management training.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate team members.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
