Position Summary :
The Senior Manager of Airport Finance at IAH manages the airport's accounting and financial reporting activities. Responsibilities include accounting, general ledger, financial statement preparation, treasury, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
The position is also responsible for implementing policies and procedures to ensure the proper safeguarding of assets and maintenance of proper internal controls over financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, exceptional business acumen, and the confidence to provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership.
This role requires a strategic thinker who is comfortable challenging assumptions, influencing decision-making, and driving financial initiatives across the organization.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee Money Room Team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the money room and cash reporting.
- Ensure the accuracy and maintain integrity of the crew / overshort policy.
- Review cash settlement reports for accuracy and investigate any discrepancies.
- Work closely with Senior Leadership team by creating analytics on key financial metrics to improve profitability.
- Oversee the Accounting Team to ensure that all invoices are entered into the system and sent to corporate for payment by the deadline.
- Analyze and accurately report daily, weekly financial results to the region, sales, and corporate management in accordance with company format and time requirements.
- Ensure accuracy of physical inventory and reported results. Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments.
- Prepare weekly / monthly forecasts and expense budgets.
- Review and approve monthly accruals. Ensure that accurate purchases are in the correct month.
- Perform walkthroughs of the terminals with management to ensure that operational policies and procedures are enforced.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Qualifications :
- 5-10 years as controller or cost manager in a hospitality / food and beverage / retail environment, managing a staff, with an emphasis on accounting, revenue reporting, and variance analysis.
- Demonstrated leadership as part of a cross-functional management team.
- Proven ability to manage and develop staff.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound planning and organizational skills.
- High level of proficiency in spreadsheets and accounting systems.
- Travel as required.
