Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking Senior or Mid-career level Geologists to support our Water Resources Business Line in Sacramento, CA that are ready to contribute to challenging and interesting projects that provide direct value to our local communities.

Your responsibilities may include :

  • Planning, budgeting, communicating and executing surface and subsurface field geologic and geotechnical exploration, and managing support staff required to execute investigations.
  • Performing geologic field reconnaissance and mapping for the identification of geologic hazards and site characterization.
  • Providing direction on the design and installation of ground water wells and geotechnical instrumentation (VWP’s, inclinometers, transducers, etc.).
  • Providing interpretation of site conditions including : geologic, geochemical, and geophysical data and preparing geotechnical and geologic reports.
  • Developing geologic models for complex geologic site conditions; geological mapping; Laboratory testing programs.
  • Conducting geologic research, and developing innovative ways to advance projects with the latest technologies.
  • Performing liaison activities with regulatory agencies (local, state, and federal agencies) on behalf of our clients.
  • Assisting in the preparation of project documentation including reports, project communications, and design drawings and report figures that are of a high professional standard.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geological Engineering or Civil Engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalence of experience and / or education.
  • Ability to perform physically rigorous field geologic data collection in a variety of terrain and weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geological Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
  • 6+ years of relevant geology experience.
  • Experience with geotechnical projects including dams, reservoirs, levees, canals, tunnels, pipelines, flood protection systems, and conveyance facilities.

Additional Information

Regular site travel required. Offered rate of compensation in Sacramento, CA will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.

The target salary range for this position is $75,000 - $120,000. AECOM is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits program to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
