SUMMARY : The General Manager (GM) will be responsible for managing the day-to-day
operations. The GM will work with cross-functional teams to develop and implement business
strategies to achieve company objectives including revenue growth, cost reduction, customer
satisfaction, financial health, and growth of the company. The GM will also be tasked with
developing and leading the team and optimizing operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
Leadership and Management
Provide strategic direction and leadership to the business unit.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and
accountability.
Ensure effective communication and maintain a high-performance culture throughout the
plant, with other departments, and across the organization..
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and support to staff.
Set a high level of excellence and foster a positive and productive work environment.
Implement and uphold company policies and procedures.
Performs other duties assigned by the Executive team.
Financial Oversight and Growth
Prepare and manage the plant's budget, including cost control measures.
Analyze financial reports and performance data to identify areas for cost-saving initiatives
and process improvement.
Monitor financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability to meet
financial objectives of the company.
Develop financial strategies to enhance profitability, including pricing models, cost
management, and investment in new technologies.
Conduct financial forecasting and risk management to safeguard the company’s financial
health.
Work collaboratively with leadership team and accounting teams to communicate and
coordinate all financial matters.
Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share and product
offerings.
Develop and execute business strategies to drive growth and achieve long-term business
objectives.
Drive initiatives to enhance innovation and competitiveness.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and
partners to foster growth and innovation.
Understand market trends and demands, customer needs, and competitor activities to
identify potential opportunities and threats.
Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
Operational Oversight (work in conjunction with Plant Manager)
Oversee all manufacturing operations to ensure products are produced on time, within
budget, efficiently and to quality standards.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize plant performance, including production
schedules, workflow, and equipment maintenance.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
Work collaboratively with HR, IT, and related shared services to determine needs for the
site.
Develop and implement operational policies and processes.
Monitor and support all certifications (e.g., Quality, Market, Customer Specific) and
requirements.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Customer and Supplier Relations :
Exceed customer expectations and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Address any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
Maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers.
Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure the best terms and conditions.
Gather and analyze customer feedback to inform business improvements.
Quality and Compliance :
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and certifications (e.g., ISO,
OSHA).
Implement and maintain quality control systems to ensure products meet or exceed
customer expectations.
Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.
Domestic travel may be required. EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, AND PROFICIENCIES : Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, or a related field (MBA preferred). Technical training or
certifications in manufacturing or production management are a plus. Proven experience as a
General Manager or in a similar executive role. Strong understanding of business functions
such as HR, Finance, Marketing, and Operations. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a
diverse team. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong analytical
and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Financial
acumen and experience with budgeting and financial management. Knowledge of
industry-specific regulations and best practices.
