We are actively recruiting experienced, registered Architectural Project Managers to join the firm in our New York office location as part of our Data Centers market sector.

This dynamic individual will add depth to our Data Centers Architecture Practice. Focusing on Data Center design, our practice relies on a specialized group of architects who understand the critical systems that support Data Centers to the degree that they can carry productive conversations with engineers regarding value, viability, reliability and appropriateness of engineering systems, and manage the entire design team and process from a very strong technical base.

Responsibilities

Our ideal manager will be a team-oriented, highly-motivated individual working with leadership to ensure client satisfaction and the ability to function in a team lead capacity, while working on multiple, challenging projects.

Responsibilities include :

  • Develop competitive fee structures reflecting defined scope of services for project pursuits
  • Establish and manage project schedules
  • Oversee the completion of projects on time and within fee budget
  • Anticipate, understand and manage client expectations
  • Provide leadership to staff by identifying project studio team members’ roles and responsibilities, leveraging their strengths, providing stretch opportunities, and offering mentorship
  • Lead and encourage open dialogue with project team regarding design and technical ideation and facilitate appropriate solutions
  • Motivate the project team to meet project goals through encouragement and / or course correction
  • Oversee administration of construction phase procedures and documentation (shop drawings / submittals, requests for information, and addenda / clarifications)
  • Oversee development and presentation of appropriate technical solutions to project stakeholders
  • Drive the coordination of internal staff, external consultants and other stakeholders to achieve a cohesive and collaborative project team.
  • Attend and conduct presentations
  • Actively explore and recognize new business opportunities through professional networks
  • Drive each project team to seek innovation in design solutions in an ongoing spirit of curiosity, continuous improvement, and increased project performance
  • Develop effective project directives, outlines, projections, schedules, and strategies over the course of the project
  • Oversee development and communication of appropriate project phasing
  • Manage all facets of project production resulting in a thorough set of documents
  • Identify solutions and effectively resolve technical challenges
  • Understand and apply appropriate industry standards and construction practices
  • Oversees, and is responsible for, the identification, understanding and documentation of regulatory agencies’ requirements, as well as recognizing and resolving code-related design issues
  • Oversee quality assurance processes and quality control of project documents
  • Demonstrate, share, and appropriately apply, new methodologies, practices, codes, and products
  • Maintain awareness of, and appropriately apply, new methodologies, practices, codes, and products
  • Attend and conduct presentations
  • Manage client relations
  • Provide leadership to staff

Qualifications

Qualified candidates already exhibit these strengths and talents :

  • Professional, NAAB accredited degree in Architecture or equivalent is required
  • 12+ years of experience in commercial architecture
  • Data Center experience or experience managing large teams on large-scale projects required
  • Professional registration
  • High commitment to QA / QC
  • Thorough understanding of how a drawing set goes together
  • Acumen for how things are built and constructibility, and the ability to apply that knowledge to support the project design and budget
  • Experience managing a variety of consultants and contractors
  • Interest in sustainable design
  • Proficiency or experience with managing overall project fees and schedules
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and leading project teams and ability to collaborate in a diverse project team environment
  • Exhibit strong marketing and client relations experience and capabilities
  • Display strengths in master planning, conceptual design, and technical excellence
  • Strong and effective organizational and communication skills
  • Confident presentation ability
  • Revit proficiency strongly preferred; experience with other 3D software is a plus
  • Efficient with coordinating project deliverables and client expectations
  • Experience preparing all stages of design documentation, performing construction administration, and consultant coordination are required
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Flexible attitude and ability to juggle multiple priorities is essential

Base Salary Range : $120,000- $145,000 annually New York locations only

The estimate range represents the general base salary range of candidates hired in New York only. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.

In addition, base salary is not inclusive of total compensation.
