Warehouse Supervisor

Description

The Warehouse Supervisor will support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, shipping and receiving area.

This position ensures that customer needs are met through the timely and efficient movement of products and materials in a high volume, fast paced distribution environment.

This role will also support cost control including overtime, management and expense control.

Salary range : $77k - $95k (depending on education and experience)

Essential Functions

• Plan and executes logistic needs with trucking firms to ensure timely pick-up and delivery of shipments, while minimizing freight cost.
• Establishes priorities and directs loading workforce to satisfy customer demands.
• Implements and enforces processes aimed to create a maximum inventory consistency and accuracy.
• Reviews and resolves operational problems to minimize cost and prevent operational delays.
• Manages the assigned business metrics / budgets including yield, labor efficiency, and overhead expenses.
• Demonstrates leadership to warehouse employees to ensure consistent quality of work.
• Maintains effective communication of expectations and goals throughout the warehouse environment.
• Ensure compliance to all OHSA and environmental regulatory and corporate standards.
• Investigate and identify root causes of any non-compliance.
• Accountable for a safe working environment through the development of strategies focused on accident reduction as well as energy and waste minimization.
• Will fill in for Warehouse Manager as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor / manager.

Requirements

Education & Experience :

Undergraduate Degree in a related field (or equivalent experience) plus three (3) years experience in warehouse logistics management required.

Strong leadership capabilities in a fast-paced production environment required.

Previous experience in the food / beverage manufacturing industry preferred.

Position-Specific Skills :

• SAP or other supply chain software experience required.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, & Outlook) with the ability to learn new applications as required.
• Initiative, the ability to work independently, strong customer service orientation, strong written and verbal skills and flexibility, vision and creativity.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in an organized, detailed manner, given limited time frames.

Physical Demands :

• Physical - Continuously standing or walking.
• Visual / Sensory - This position requires regular need to give moderate attention with one or two senses at a time.
• Work Environment - Work and environment are very repetitive.

Climate : This position requires the incumbent to have the ability to work in ambient hot and / or cold seasonal environments.
