Each Assistant Learning Specialist will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and academic coaching for student athletes with learning disabilities and other academic needs.
Each Assistant Learning Specialist will :
1.Collaborate with a professional Learning Specialist in working with their caseload of students each semester
2.Be directly supervised by a professional Learning Specialist
3.Attend weekly Learning Specialist / Assistant Learning Specialist staff meetings
4.Have opportunities for professional development / career exploration in student athlete academic services (some consideration provided to applicants who are able to make a two-year commitment)

The Assistant Learning Specialist will assist Learning Specialists as they support academically at-risk student athletes.
The position has a commitment of at least hours a week for one full academic year. The position will include training and ongoing professional development, and it is a great opportunity for anyone interested in careers in education, student services, student athlete academic services, or collegiate athletics.
Relevant / Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position To be considered for the position, the applicant should meet the following :
- Attending weekly LS / ALS meetings
- Attendance at regularly-scheduled supervision meetings with LS
- Available for at least hours per week (evenings and Sundays included) for individual student appointments and Structured Study Hall
- Enrollment in a UGA graduate program preferred (students from Mary Frances Early College of Education strongly encouraged to apply) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and / or Competencies Physical Demands Is this a Position of Trust?
