Job DescriptionThe Strategic Buyer will, daily, manage the business process and approval flow for hardware purchases, including validating that purchases align with contract terms and Oracle procurement policies.

The Strategic Buyer will also act as a liaison between engineering and sourcing teams, assist with processing purchase requisitions and supplier adds, and act as a point of escalation with the tactical purchasing team.

As a member of Oracle’s Strategic Sourcing team, you will interface with our global subsidiaries, suppliers and our tactical purchasing teams.

You will be asked to take on process or procedure continuous improvement projects. Projects and assignments will vary over time.

  • Understand and leverage Oracle’s ERP tool suite, procurement and supplier functions, business attributes and reporting methods.
  • Manage and maintain the supply chain operations procurement categories.
  • Validate all purchase requisitions or purchase orders meet Oracle legal, procurement and business policies.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders to enable support and compliance.
  • Work involves problem solving and applying company policies and procedures.Career Level - IC4ResponsibilitiesServe as a liaison with other divisions such as Finance, Contracts, HR, Legal, Shared Services, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, and Risk Management in an effort to ensure accurate and timely transaction processing.

Collect, input, verify, correct, and analyze data to measure key performance indicator actual versus business objectives.

Provide updates to management regarding budget to actual, informing them of deviations and opportunities. Provide management with economic impact and compliance issues surrounding key business decisions and / or deals.

Communicate Oracle Business Practices to the organization and monitor process and approvals for full compliance. Drive implementation of new processes and procedures.

Oracle is looking for an innovative, inspiring, resourceful Strategic Buyer who will drive and manage multiple procurement categories to ensure category processes evolve as the business and requirements expand. You will :

  • Build strong relationships at all levels of the business and our supply chain to advance good procurement practices and meet desired goals.
  • Perform due diligence on potential and current suppliers and manage procurement terms and pricing.
  • Route purchase requisitions to the appropriate sourcing managers for negotiation or verification. Approve purchase requisitions, ensuring all contract, policy, and business practice requirements are met.
  • Improve purchase requisition routing flow to ensure purchase requisitions are processed in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot purchase requisitions and supplier add requests.
  • Manage engineering, manufacturing support, data center hardware / networking and tooling procurement categories.
  • Manage and analyze supplier spend reports.
  • Identify process or procedure areas for cycle time or efficiency improvements, simplification or automation.
  • Prepare and perform training for supplier procurement onboarding, purchase requisition, and supplier data management processes.

What are we looking for in a candidate?Oracle is looking for a highly motivated self-starter who has supply chain experience and a passion for improvement, especially ensuring continuity of supply.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, economics or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in electronics industry supply chain procurement, supply chain roles with a track record of effectively managing responsibilities in an empowered and changing environment
  • Ability to understand, internalize, and enforce Oracle’s policies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service, negotiation and ability to multi-task.
  • Track record of being an enthusiastic, creative, resourceful, and effective team player with experience helping and influencing internal and external resources to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Highly motivated, innovative self-starter who can transform ambiguity into clarity.
  • Expertise in analyzing, simplifying and presenting data, and developing dashboards.
  • Leadership, project management, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Experience leading and implementing projects requiring cross-group collaboration.
  • Knowledge of supply chain procurement contract terms and capable of discussing applicability with internal customers.
  • Experience with Oracle’s ERP tool suite modules including product development, procurement, sourcing.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green / Black Belt certifications are a plus.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations onlyUS : Hiring Range : from $73,800 to $178,200 per annum.

May be eligible for bonus and equity.Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

11 paid holidaysPaid sick leave : 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
