Description

Essential Functions :

Assist in the management all aspects of system payroll dictionaries, employee files and bi-weekly pay periods to ensure all employees are paid accurately every scheduled pay day.

Complete payroll process by initiating all electronic funds transfers and check / interface requests for employee withholdings taken.

Initiate daily and monthly payroll close process to interface to general ledger. Follow-up with employees’ questions regarding their pay in a courteous and timely manner.

Monitor and verify employee data interfaces from HRIS. Follow up with Human Resources regarding missing, erroneous or incomplete payroll information.

Perform periodic audits comparing Payroll system, HRIS, Kronos employee information to ensure all information is consistent and accurate.

  • Complete employment verifications in a timely manner.
  • Assist in analyzing, calculating and managing IRS levies, employee garnishments and wage assignments, carefully following specific criteria.
  • Assist in monitoring changes in IRS and Wage Hour regulations to ensure compliance. Implement changes through updated dictionaries based on the effective dates as indicated in the regulations.
  • Assist in reconciling, compiling and submitting monthly, quarterly and annual reports, including but not limited to work comp, quarterly 941, annual W-2’s, with all reports submitted prior to their due date.
  • Working knowledge of all areas of the payroll office to provide backup to the Payroll Coordinator during times of absences or heavy workload.
  • Working knowledge of the time keeping system, familiarity with all pay rules and employee data to correctly apply approved and / or mandated pay policies.

Assist editors and directors in running management reports available.

  • Analyze and complete special projects within time frame specified.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Preferred :

Experience - 3+ years of Accounting Experience; 5+ years of Healthcare Experience; 5+ years of Payroll Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business

Physical Requirements :

Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
