Staff Accountant

Pilot Water Solutions is seeking a Staff Accountant to be a part of our growing team. This person will be an integral part of the accounting team and assist in preparing financial statements and provide general ledger support to various company accounting functions.

This position is located in Houston, Texas, and reports to the Accounting Manager.

Essential Job Requirements

• Prepares, reviews, and posts journal entries for multiple entities.
• Reconciles assigned general ledger accounts and prepares required adjustments as needed.
• Assists in other month end closing activities.
• Reviews and updates financial documents, reports, and statements.
• Assists with audits as required for the position.
• Ensures compliance with governmental accounting regulations and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Researches and corrects account discrepancies.
• Prepares ad hoc management reports.
• Answers inquiries from finance, operations, contracts, and engineering staff.
• Performs other related duties and projects based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum three years of related experience required.
• Knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures.
• Strong organization, planning, and time-management skills for multiple priorities.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic, and rapidly expanding environment.
• Proactive problem-solver with strong critical and analytic skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience in a multi-entity setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, maintain detailed and accurate records, and prepare clear and concise written reports at all levels of the organization.
• Will be required to work extra hours during month end close, audits, and as the need arises.
• Able to travel as needed; travel limited.

Preferred Qualifications

• Aspiring CPA Candidate.
• Knowledge of NetSuite.
• Knowledge of the water midstream or oil and gas industry.

Physical Requirements

• Standard office environment.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
