Position Purpose : The Accounts Payable Specialist must believe in, practice, and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME.
They must be Honest, Objective, Mature and Efficient in how they approach their role at Green Brick Partners.
The Accounts Payable Specialist ensures that all vendors are paid accurately and according to negotiated terms, while keeping clean and organized records
Responsibilities :
- Process invoices and check requests, including coding, approval, and payment for Green Brick’s financial services and corporate accounting teams.
- Obtain proper approval of invoices, check registers, and checks.
- Work with vendors to resolve invoice and payment questions.
- Prepare vendor setup / change forms with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Assist with vendor ACH setup.
- Ensure vendor compliance with insurance requirements.
- Process initial purchase order setup in Newstar, as well as change orders as necessary.
- Assist Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, and FS Accounting Manager with projects as needed.
Supervision of Others : None
Authority / Budget / Decision Making / Discretion and Independent Judgment Ability :
This position involves the level of duties as described above, or similar, but is not a position of supervisory or management level.
Qualifications : Education :
Education :
- High School Diploma
- College Accounting Courses preferred.
Experience :
- At least 1-2 years of AP experience required.
- Microsoft Excel
