The School of Dentistry’s Director of Admissions plays a crucial role in the recruitment and enrollment process of its incoming class.
This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies necessary to attract prospective students, overseeing the Admissions Team, and ensuring that the School of Dentistry meets its enrollment goals.
The Director of Admissions collaborates with a variety of departments and stakeholders (both on and off campus) to create a seamless admissions process and enhance the overall student experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment and admissions strategy to attract and enroll a diverse and qualified student body.
- Oversee the Admissions team (staff and Admissions Committee) providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with college advisors, community organizations, and other external partners to enhance the School of Dentistry’s visibility in order to attract a strong applicant pool.
- Act as chairperson of the Admissions Committee which includes the recruitment and training of its members.
- Collaborate with School of Dentistry leadership to establish admission criteria, policies, and procedures that align with the institution’s mission and goals.
- Evaluate and enhance the admissions process, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for applicants from initial inquiry to enrollment.
- Act as liaison with organized dentistry : ADEA, ADA, and WDA. Foster on-campus relationships with Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid, OIE and the Colleges of Arts & Sciences and Health Sciences.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in recruitment and admissions, implementing innovative approaches to attract and enroll students.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop and execute effective marketing campaigns and materials that promote the School of Dentistry and its distinctive qualities.
Responsible for budget associated with marketing, communication and travel.
Responsible for the supervision of staff which includes but is not limited to hiring, terming, disciplinary actions, performance management, staff development, etc.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
- Strong leadership and management abilities with skills to effectively lead and inspire a team.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build relationships with diverse populations.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability, flexibility, collaborative.
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, professional attitude and ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity.

- Proficiency in using admissions software and technology to manage and streamline processes.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Previous experience marketing higher education.
- Previous experience in either undergraduate or professional school admissions.
- Familiarity with ADEA.
- Familiarity with CODA.
