CAD TECHNICIAN :
OVERVIEW : We are seeking a CAD Technician to create detailed drawings of structural components based on contract and design drawings.
The CAD Technician will also be responsible for making revisions and producing bills of material. Additionally, this role will provide technical support to our sales and operations teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Utilize knowledge of various manufacturing machinery and processes, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
- Provide clear and comprehensive drawings by showing dimensions, materials, and other necessary information.
- Develop bills of material, tolerance and dimensioning of products, welding and manufacturing symbols, and other requirements for production.
- Accurately document engineering drawing changes, bill of materials, and associated documents.
- Prepare submittal packages for approval and effectively communicate information requests to customers or project engineers.
- Adhere to department policies and procedures for detailing, estimating, and engineering drawings.
- Identify opportunities to improve cost, delivery, or quality of the product and provide recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product strategy, development, and manufacturing coordination.
- Communicate and coordinate project-specific information with Sales, Estimating, and Manufacturing teams.
- Work with various teams to resolve customer and production issues related to product quality, new product introduction, capacity, purchasing, and planning.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Detailing Manager.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS : The ideal candidate should have a High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience.
A 2 or 4-year degree in engineering, drafting / design, or technical studies is required. Familiarity with metals, welding symbols, and manufacturing processes is advantageous.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), AutoCAD, and MRP / ERP systems is essential. The CAD Technician must possess a high level of energy, be results-oriented, and confident.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships across all levels are necessary. The successful candidate should be strategic, proactive, and able to handle multiple projects or customers simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
