Nassau Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team! Our AHHA accredited six doctor practice celebrates the bond between pets and people.
Founded in 1937, Nassau Veterinary Clinic is one of the oldest animal hospitals in New York State. Inside our state-of-the-art facility, you will find 5 comfortable exam rooms, a surgery suite, a spacious hospital treatment area, and modern X-ray equipment.
In addition, we have a grooming room, a pet training room, and an outdoor exercise area where agility classes are held. We can house 100 pets and over 40 team members dedicated to quality patient care!
We are looking for a team player with exceptional client service and communication skills, attention to detail with a positive and compassionate attitude.
Job Responsibilities :
- Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement
- Obtain laboratory sample collection, process, and possibly interpret results (fecal / parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
- Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
- Prep and anesthetize in surgery and perform dental cleanings
- Take radiographs
- Ability to effectively communicate and educate clients
- Use of computerized medical records and invoicing
Qualifications :
- State of NY Veterinary Technician License required
- Motivated to maintain our standards of excellent client services and high- quality patient care
- Team player with exceptional client service and communication skills, attention to detail with a positive and compassionate attitude
- Minimum of 1-year of experience preferred
- Veterinary software experience is a plus
- Hours will include weekdays, some evenings, and weekends. Scheduled to fill our business needs. Hourly wage will commensurate with experience.

Salary : $39,000 to $55,000 based on experience
