Summary

The Regional Brand & Retail Marketing Specialist for the Colorado market will lead the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility, drive customer engagement, and increase sales for a prominent cannabis brand and its retail stores.

This role requires a proven ability to create localized marketing campaigns that resonate with the diverse customer base in this region.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regional and retail marketing, combined with a passion for the cannabis culture and community.

Key Responsibilities

Market Strategy Development

  • Create and implement comprehensive marketing strategies tailored to the Colorado market that align with the company's overall brand objectives.
  • Conduct ongoing market research to stay ahead of trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities in the Colorado cannabis industry.
  • Develop targeted marketing campaigns that appeal to the unique demographics of Colorado's cannabis consumers.

Retail Marketing

  • Design and execute in-store promotions, events, and experiences that drive foot traffic and sales in Colorado retail locations.
  • Interpret data from multiple sources (Tableau, CRM, internal database dashboards) to identify insights and inform promotional decisions.
  • Collaborate extensively with purchasing and inventory teams to inform restocks and / or ensure sell-through of excess or aged inventory.
  • Work closely with store managers to understand local customer insights and optimize store-level marketing efforts.
  • Utilize retail performance data to refine marketing strategies and identify new growth opportunities

Local Media Buying

Develop and execute paid social media strategies across multiple platforms (e.g., Meta platforms / channels, Reddit, Nextdoor, Eventbrite LinkedIn, et al.

to drive brand awareness, engagement, and conversions.

  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize campaign performance using data-driven insights to ensure KPIs such as ROI, CTR, and CPA are met or exceeded.
  • Collaborate with creative and content teams to produce compelling ad creatives, and manage A / B testing to refine targeting and messaging.

Digital Marketing

  • Lead regional digital marketing efforts, including social media campaigns, email marketing, and online advertising, with a focus on driving both e-commerce and in-store sales.
  • Manage local SEO and digital presence for retail locations across the state.
  • Analyze digital campaign performance and provide insights for continuous improvement.

Brand Management

  • Maintain and enhance brand consistency across all marketing channels, including in-store, online, and offline media.
  • Collaborate with the national marketing team to produce region-specific content and messaging.
  • Monitor brand reputation in Colorado and proactively manage public relations efforts as needed.

Community Engagement

  • Build and nurture relationships with local influencers, community leaders, and industry stakeholders to boost brand awareness.
  • Represent the brand at regional events, cannabis trade shows, and community outreach programs.
  • Implement grassroots marketing efforts that connect the brand with local communities.

Budget Management

  • Oversee the marketing budget for the Colorado region, ensuring effective use of resources to maximize return on investment (ROI).
  • Monitor and manage third-party promotional reimbursement budgets for the Colorado retail market.
  • Regularly report on budget expenditures and campaign performance to senior management.

Compliance

  • Ensure all marketing activities comply with Colorado's state and local cannabis regulations.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and adjust marketing strategies as necessary to remain compliant.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in regional marketing, preferably within the cannabis, retail, or consumer goods industries.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing effective regional marketing campaigns.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Colorado as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the cannabis industry, particularly within Colorado.
  • Knowledge of the Colorado cannabis market and its regulatory landscape.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing platforms and analytics tools.
