Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro is seeking a Securities Litigation Associate to join our Securities practice.
Core Responsibilities :
- Assist with the development and prosecution of securities cases, including
- Investigate and vet potential cases and newly filed cases
- Develop confidential witnesses
- Conduct detailed factual and legal analysis of potential securities claims
- Research law
- Participate in the prosecution of securities cases including
- Draft pleadings including preparation of lead plaintiff motions, consolidated amended complaints, and dispositive motion briefing
- Affirmative and responsive discovery and trial preparation, including written and deposition discovery
- Assist in trial
Requirements and Qualifications :
- J.D. with 2-4 years’ experience (securities class action and / or derivative litigation experience preferred).
- Knowledge of the federal securities laws is important, as is a working familiarity with the financial markets and the laws governing derivative actions
- Exceptional analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Superior writing, drafting and oral advocacy skills
- Highly accomplished academic and employment credentials
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, verbal and written communication skills
- Results oriented, self-starter, with a high level of initiative
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with internal and external contacts at all levels
- Ability to work independently, shift focus, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain patience in high pressure situations
- Must manage highly confidential information with professionalism and unquestionable integrity
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)
