Moran Towing Corporation (www.morantug.com) has an opportunity available for an Able-Body Seaman (AB) for Moran Transportation .
This is a full-time position reporting to the Captain.

POSITION SUMMARY :
The AB performs all duties as assigned by the Captain and Chief Mate.
Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following :
- Carry out all lawful orders.
- Report unsafe situations or opportunities for improvement.
- Perform duties safely and efficiently.
- Act as lookout as required.
- Work on deck as required.
- Conduct engine room rounds as required.
- Be thoroughly familiar with the vessel's equipment.
- Carry out vessel and equipment cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Perform ballast water operations and assist with barge operations as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Captain or his designee.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Able Body Seaman.
- STCW endorsement for Rating Forming Part of Navigation Watch, Lifeboatmen or Survival Craft, GMDSS, VPDSD.
- Current Medical Certificate.
- Valid TWIC.
- 1-2 years of experience aboard towing vessel or graduate of a maritime college.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's Degree in a maritime or related field.
- Mate, Steam or Motor of not more than 1600 GRT / 3000 ITC Near Coastal.
- Mate, Towing Vessels Near Coastal.
- Valid passport.
- Tankerman Person in Charge (PIC).
- Excellent communications skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- Ability to work safely and navigate in a marine setting; walk, sit, or stand for extended periods of time; frequently reach with hands and arms;
- frequently crouch or stoop; climb / descend stairs and ladders; occasionally lift and / or carry up to 60 pounds; occasionally enter and work in confined spaces;
travel a minimum of 50% of the year; and withstand exposure to environmental conditions such as heat, rain, cold and or / humidity.

Our target pay range for the Able-Body Seaman (AB) position is $39.58 - $41.25 per hour. This pay range represents Moran's commitment to pay transparency and is a reasonable estimate of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting.
The final salary for this role will be determined based on careful consideration of a variety of factors, such as the candidate's exact location, experience, and expertise related to the qualifications.
