The Jr. Chinooks are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to become our Director of Operations. This role is crucial to the success of our youth baseball organization, helping to manage team operations, ensure seamless communication, and foster growth.
The Director of Operations will oversee all aspects of the Jr. Chinooks program, including team management, tryouts, fundraising, and engagement with families and players.
Key Responsibilities :
Team Operations
- Coordinate with head coaches to oversee the day-to-day operations of Jr. Chinooks teams.
- Organize and manage team tryouts, ensuring smooth execution and adequate coaching staff.
- Grade players, make team selections, and communicate invitations to players and parents.
- Manage the collection of player fees.
- Recruit qualified head and assistant coaches for Jr. Chinooks teams.
- Collaborate with management to plan both off-season and in-season training programs.
- Schedule all team practices (indoor and outdoor), tournaments, and league games.
- Arrange hotel blocks for team travel.
- Communicate regularly with parents and ensure all teams stay within their outlined budgets.
- Keep inventory of equipment and coordinate team uniforms with management.
- Plan for future team growth on a year-by-year basis.
Fundraising
- Organize and oversee all Jr. Chinooks fundraising activities in coordination with stakeholders.
- Implement fundraising activities to help support team operations and growth.
Engagement
- Work with Lakeshore Chinooks staff to ensure the Jr. Chinooks experience is unmatched.
- Engage with Jr. Chinooks families and players year-round in both baseball and non-baseball-related activities, fostering a sense of community.
Time Commitment
This position is part-time but varies seasonally :
Fall and Winter : The majority of the work can be done remotely, with a focus on planning, scheduling, and coordination.
These months allow for flexible hours, as much of the work involves communication with coaches, parents, and scheduling activities.
Team practices are only once / week on weekends.
Spring and Summer : The workload intensifies, with more on-site responsibilities such as coordinating tournaments and league games, attending team functions, overseeing tryouts, and more.
There will be more time-sensitive tasks such as communicating and rescheduling rain-outs requiring a higher level of availability during these months.
