SUMMARY : The Educator Programs Manager directly manages staff retreat facilitators and the development of talent for future retreat facilitators.
This position ensures Educator retreats are adequately staffed and also serves as an example of high caliber of retreat facilitation and retreat leadership while out in the community.

Work Schedule : 12-month, Full Time (40 hours / wk), Mon-Fri
Location : In-Office. Edina, MN, includes Midwest and National Travel

Pay Range : $100,000 - $120,000 / yr DOQ

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & DUTIES :
Lead, Manage, and Hold Accountable : Educator Retreat Facilitators
- Lead : Develop staff into their roles, guide personal development of team members, align team's vision with larger organizational vision and initiatives, orient team to goals, inspire productivity, and embody core values and culture.
- Manage : Approve payroll and time off requests, give technical guidance to execute essential functions of employee roles, onboard employees successfully, conduct employee reviews, appropriately answer or direct any questions, help team navigate the organization and resources, and provide support, assistance, and guidance so they can succeed.
- Hold Accountable : Give direct feedback to employees on an ongoing basis, document and address performance metrics, escalate issues to broader leadership or HR, such as reasonable accommodation needs or position change recommendations.
Educator Programs Staffing and Delivery
Prepare and adjust staffing schedule for educator retreats on a weekly basis to ensure all booked retreats are adequately staffed.
Solicit schedule availability from all educator retreat staff at least one month in advance to accommodate PTO requests and plan for travel availability.
Project staffing schedules out least two months in advance, and respond to changes as needed.
Balance staffing between full-time and on-call staff. Prioritize full-time retreat facilitators to minimize labor expenses.
Ensure retreat travel is spread evenly and appropriately across all staff.
- Ensure each retreat team possess all necessary skills and competencies to deliver successful retreats. Confirm all musical talents and abilities, talk proficiencies, and other strengths and limitations are recorded correctly in retreat database to prevent unrealistic or impossible team schedules.
- Communicate staffing schedule to retreat staff at least two weeks in advance.
- Oversee recruitment of educator retreat facilitators. Ensure a pipeline of candidates is robust enough to ensure appropriate hiring.
Escalate projected shortages to leadership and HR as necessary and make recommendations to resolve.
Educator Programs Quality and Content Support
- Support the CQ and observation teams in the development of content and retreat facilitator skills. Execute on strategic initiatives and action plans determined by CQ team as requested.
- Complete staff observations and provide consistent feedback to improve retreat staff performance. Ensure feedback is clear, concise, appropriate, and productive.
- Recommend and procure additional coaching and staff development resources as requested. Facilitate training and coaching as needed to ensure educator retreats are delivered successfully.
- Provide talk and music coaching as needed throughout the organization. Serve as a subject matter expert on retreat delivery and ensure consistency across all programs and experiences.
Retreat Facilitation
- Facilitate interactive programs, as needed, approximately 3-4 hours in length, to groups of 50-200 educators from all types of educational organizations, alongside 1-2 other YF staff.
- Generate a fun, engaging, and productive atmosphere through music performance, games, and other media.
- Develop personal talks and / or music performances that align with program framework and meet expectations of program managers prior to retreat delivery.
- Equip educators and schools with language necessary to build character and respectful communities by delivering YF programing through music, activities, public speaking, and small / large group discussion.
- Travel to local Twin Cities, greater Minnesota, greater Midwest locations (WI, IA, ND, SD, NE) and nationally, as needed.
- Follow all YF policies in all interactions with school contacts, teachers, administrators, students, and other guests.
- Coach peer leaders and other volunteers on effective small group facilitation.
Retreat Leadership
- Transport sound equipment, program supplies, and handouts to program sites using company-owned vehicles.
- Work with YF team and school contacts to manage logistics before, during, and after retreat.
- Respond to any concerns from school staff or participants promptly and appropriately.
- Complete all necessary documentation related to retreats and program logistics.
All positions at Youth Frontiers may perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- 8+ years experience as a licensed educator
- Experience with professional development for licensed educators
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Experience working in an Administrator / Principal role.
- Management experience (payroll, schedule management, etc).
- Experience working at a non-profit
- Experience with a Mac / iOS
- Experience working in theater or as a musician
