Security Officer - Education Front Desk PT

As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will be the welcoming face for all visitors, staff, and students. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access, verifying credentials, and assisting with security-related incidents as they arise. You will provide exceptional customer service, support a secure environment, and help to deter incidents through your visible presence. Position Type : Part Time

Pay Rate : $16.25 / Hour

Job Schedule :

DayTimeSat02 : 45 PM - 11 : 15 PM

Sun02 : 45 PM - 11 : 15 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to individuals entering and exiting the location by following security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
  • Monitor access control at the front desk to help to deter unauthorized entry and / or suspicious activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following Allied Universal's protocols.
  • Maintain detailed records and / or logs of visitor activity, daily occurrences, and security-related incidents as required.
  • Communicate professionally with students, faculty, staff, and / or visitors to address questions or concerns related to site access and security-related matters.
  • Follow emergency response protocols when appropriate, coordinating with Allied Universal management and local authorities as needed.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
