Description
This role is focused on driving equipment growth to higher levels through an overlay sales function, enhancing direct customer engagement within the product category.
The Equipment Advisor will demonstrate specialized knowledge of Distribution Management’s printer offerings and will provide hardware recommendations to both the internal sales team and external customers.
This position involves inbound and outbound activities with customers, serving as a vital component within the general sales organization.
Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager and based at our St. Charles, MO Headquarters, the Equipment Advisor’s key responsibilities include :
- Conducting inbound / outbound sales activities directly with customers.
- Offering product recommendations to Distribution Management’s internal sales organization and external customers.
- Acting as the lead product knowledge champion with key equipment manufacturer.
- Serving as the primary point of contact for the manufacturer field team.
- Identifying opportunities through data mining, specifically related to sponsoring vendors’ promotions and programs.
- Collaborating with MPS Advisors on hardware opportunities within new and existing contracts.
- Acting as the central point of coordination for new product rollouts.
- Researching and understanding technical aspects of key products.
- Seeking and sharing competitive pricing, programs, and opportunities with Distribution Management Sales and Product Management Teams.
- Conducting product category overviews with customers.
- Assisting in keeping the sales force informed on specials, manufacturing programs, etc.
- Aiding in identifying and outlining potential solutions for operational improvements to enhance customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of direct selling experience preferred.
- Experience in the business product industry is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated experience in long-term problem resolution.
- Intense time management and multitasking ability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to visit key partners or attend training, typically 1-2 nights a month.
