JOBSUMMARY
Monitor Food Safety& Quality Assurance (FSQA) support / evaluation programs andinspection / audit procedures to ensure compliance of products andprocesses to corporate and regulatory requirements at a SyscoSpecialty Meat and / or Seafood Company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitoringof FSQA programs including HACCP Program, sanitation standardoperating procedures, pest control, good manufacturing practices,approved supplier program, foreign material control, plantsanitation, chemical control, product quality assurance, FSQACustomer complaints, food defense andsecurity
- Assist in Employee Training of FSQAPrograms, Policies, and Procedures
- Assist inImplementation of Independent FSQA Audit Program SQFAudits
- Assist when necessary for productevaluations, plant visits, and supplier / customer communication toassist other staff members.
Assist as needed in any manner capableof during emergencies the plant President or GM (general manager)determines are paramount to thebusiness.
Frequently interacts with thefollowing : SSMC / SSSC Personnel, Operations, Sales, Transportationand Maintenance as well as Sysco Operating Companies, andsupplier / customer personnel at the line level.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Formaljob training in TQM principles, SPC, HACCP concepts, CFIA / FDAregulations would be beneficial.
- Formal qualityand sensory analysis training would behelpful.
Experience
- Oneto 3 years of meat and / or seafood industry (as appropriate)experience at a federal CFIA / FDA meat and / or seafood processingplant (as appropriate).
- Raw meat or seafoodindustry the only experience will be accepted instead of combinedexperience

- Corrected vision required forsensory analysis to identify color,clarity.
- Warehouse and plant audit alsorequires close and distance vision to judge GMPs; peripheral visionand depth perception mandatory for safety.
WorkEnvironment
- Frequentlyexposed to fumes or airborneparticles.
- Occasionally works near mechanicalparts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed towet and / or humid conditions, extreme cold, and risk ofradiation.
- The noise level in the workenvironment is usually moderate and operating in a refrigeratedenvironment is common.
- Plant audits / inspectionsand working at remote in-transit processing facilities and SyscoOperating Companies contain both moderate / loud noise and exposureto fumes and mechanicalhazards.
