Food Safety & Quality Technician - Geneva, IL Plant

OVERVIEW

The Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Technician role will be accountable for raw material management, verification activities, and records review.

This role will support both Desserts and Fruit Snacks departments at the Geneva plant and will closely interact with the quality engineering, operations, and logistics functions.

This role will typically be day shift, Monday through Friday, but will require some flexibility to support business needs.

The Geneva, IL Plant is our newest addition to our North America plant network, joining the network in 2024. To increase capacity and keep pace with the growing consumer demand for the products, General Mills is making a significant investment to expand capacity for our beloved Fruit brands (Gusher and Fruit by the Foot).

We currently make Betty Crocker desserts at our plant. After startup of Fruit, the plant will have 400+ employees and be just under 500,000 sq ft of production and warehouse space.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Mock recall and trace program owner
• Label verification
• COA verification
• Supplier management of ingredients and packaging
• Management of quality notification (QN) process
• Kosher program
• Review of critical FSQ records
• Perform FSRA inspections, verification, and training
• FSQ SharePoint management
• Other duties per business and function needs
• Support new product setup process

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong aptitude for technology.
• This position requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects while performing everyday tasks.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to compile, retrieve data, and report results on GMI standard data collection systems such as MQIS, ECLIPS, and HiFi.
• Strong commitment to food safety & quality and customer service .

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 4-year college education, with emphasis in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, Quality Assurance or related technical discipline
• Previous manufacturing plant food safety & quality experience

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $48400.00 - $66700.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role.

The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc.
