About the Opportunity
Kalamazoo Valley is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to join our Institutional Support Services team, serving the Human Resources department.
This opportunity would allow you to play a pivotal role by contributing to a variety of functions that support our mission and enhance the workplace experience for our faculty and staff.
This position offers the ability to gain comprehensive HR experience and make a meaningful impact on our college community.
Duties include, but are not limited to :
- Tracking, verifying and maintaining department files and records.
- Responding to inquiries and providing information in accordance with department policies and procedures.
- Assisting in the pre-employment process for staff and faculty hiring.
- Composing letters, memos and other written materials for department use in committees, meetings or other projects.
- Maintaining professional development learning management system.
- Serving as the main point-of-contact for employees, students and visitors to the HR Department via phone, email and walk-ins.
- Assisting with special projects such as year-end processes, performance management tracking, and training activities.
Knowledge and skill in the following are also required :
- Skill in preparing and utilizing databases and spreadsheets effectively.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining an efficient filing systems.
- Skill in oral and written communications.
- Skill in analyzing documents to ensure compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Skill in using Microsoft Office applications.
Minimum Qualifications :
Appropriate education, training, experience and talents are required. An example of this would be an Associate degree and experience equivalent to two years of professional office support.
